HEA offer a variety of Activities and Services for the older people of Holbeck to encourage Social Inclusion, friendship building and prevention of Loneliness. The services we cover are available during the working week.
To access our services we ask that in the first instance people contact and speak to the Outreach Worker who can arrange to do a Home Visit and Assessment to help ascertain which services or activities people would like to attend and benefit the most from. On completion of the Home Visit the Outreach Worker and Activities Co-ordinator meet to discuss the next step and look at engaging the person onto the most beneficial activity and social event. If the person feels that they would not benefit from attending our activities, the Outreach Worker can signpost to other agencies which are more appropriate. We can also provide advise on Housing, Benefits, Health and Well-being, Security & Safety Issues and other concerns they may have. We always welcome new referrals and new people attending our weekly activities and other social events and outings.
We also provide Transport to the Weekly and Quarterly Activities. The Transport Service operates two Bright Yellow Minibuses, both of which are Big Lottery Funded. The transport service provides a door to door service to support the service users on and off the bus and with any shopping they may have. All of our Transport staff have been trained in assisting Service Users when using the bus.
